MUCKART, hamlet and parish in Ochil district, Perthshire. The hamlet lies 3 miles east-north-east of Dollar, and has a post office under Dollar, Established and United Presbyterian . churches, and a public school with about 80 scholars. The parish contains also Pool hamlet, and small part of Dollar town. Its length is 4| miles ; its greatest breadth 2 miles; its area 4928 acres. Real property in 1880-81, 6012. Pop., quoad civilia, 601 ; quoad sacra, 593. The surface is mainly a portion of the Ochils, and partly a long romantic reach of the Devon's vale, both above and below Crook-of-Devon.
