Real property in\n1880-81, 18,334. Pop. 1505. The Nith\ntraces most of the south-western boundary ;\nthe Cample most of the western ; and the\nAe most of the eastern. The surface near\nthe Nith is rich, low valley ; farther up is\nj slightly diversified arable plain; in the\nI centre is an expanse of moor, partly\nreclaimed ; in the north is part of the\nSouthern Highlands, culminating on\nQueensberry. A striking natural feature\nis Crichup linn. Limestone abounds, and\nis largely worked.
